Chahat's phone rang again.
Thinking it was Rohan once more, she answered without even looking at the screen.
"Hello?"
However, instead of Rohan's voice, a sweet voice greeted her from the other end.
Or rather, a voice that was trying very hard to sound sweet.
It belonged to none other than her step-sister—
Riya.
The moment Chahat heard her voice, she immediately understood what had happened.
Rohan must have called Riya and asked her to check on Chahat.
After all, in the past eight months, it had never happened that Rohan called and Chahat failed to answer.
Not once.
Moreover, during the entire week Kabir had been away, Chahat hadn't called Rohan even a single time.
For Rohan and Riya, this change was shocking.
---
As soon as Chahat picked up, Riya hurriedly began speaking.
"Chahat, are you okay?"
"Rohan told me you didn't answer his call, and he got worried. Poor guy has been so anxious that he hasn't even eaten anything since morning."
"He loves you so much."
"If you were busy, you could've at least answered and told him that."
"Do you know how worried I was too?"
Riya continued without pause, but Chahat interrupted her.
"Riya, I wanted to answer Rohan's call."
"But Kabir was with me at that time."
"And you know what would happen if he found out I was talking to Rohan."
"I love Rohan too, and I don't want Kabir to hurt him."
"So I had no choice but to ignore his calls."
Of course, those words were nothing but lies.
In reality, Chahat no longer cared about either Rohan or Riya.
She was merely pretending.
Because she didn't want either of them to discover that she knew the truth.
Not yet.
Her revenge had only just begun.
---
Hearing her answer, a crooked smile appeared on Riya's face.
She decided to fan the flames even further.
"Chahat, you should just leave Kabir."
"He's so cruel to you."
"I don't understand how you've tolerated him all this time."
"If I were you, I'd divorce him."
"And besides, once you divorce him, you won't have any problems."
"After all… all his property belongs to you."
There was a reason behind Riya's greed.
According to an old tradition in the Rathore family, once the heir married, his wealth and assets were legally transferred to his wife's name.
And after the birth of their child, the inheritance would pass to the next generation.
That was why Rohan, Riya, and their mother desperately wanted Kabir and Chahat to separate.
Because they feared that if the couple reconciled and had a child, their chance to seize the fortune would disappear forever.
And as long as Kabir and Chahat remained together, transferring the property to themselves was impossible.
Kabir Rathore would never allow it.
---
Knowing all this, Chahat calmly replied,
"I know I can divorce him whenever I want."
"But I want to ruin him."
"After what he did to me, I won't let him go so easily."
Hearing those words, Riya was overjoyed.
She had no idea that things had already changed.
No longer was Chahat trapped in their plans.
Now—
They were trapped in hers.
And they didn't even realize it.
---
Chahat had finally understood everything.
She recognized all the mistakes she had made and was trying to correct them.
After being reborn, she had only two goals.
First—
To give Kabir all the love and happiness she had failed to give him before.
And second—
To make those who had ruined her and her husband suffer a living hell.
No matter what it took.
And she would achieve both.
At any cost.
---
However, what Chahat didn't know…
Was that someone had overheard one sentence she spoke to Riya.
---
After ending the call, Chahat lay down on her bed.
Thinking about the precious moments she had shared with Kabir earlier that morning, a smile appeared on her face.
Before she realized it, she had drifted off to sleep.
---
Meanwhile…
At the top floor of the towering building bearing the name
KR Enterprises
Kabir sat in his chair.
His aura was terrifyingly cold.
As if he was suppressing a volcano of rage.
But only he knew the reason.
Unfortunately, the one suffering from his bad mood was his assistant—
Ronit.
Poor Ronit had absolutely no idea what crime he had committed.
Yet Kabir had already scolded him thoroughly.
And when Kabir noticed Ronit zoning out in the middle of his lecture, his anger only intensified.
Bang!
Slamming his hand on the table, Kabir shouted,
"Ronit!"
"Are you even listening to me?"
"I told you to prepare this presentation again."
"And this time, I don't want a single mistake."
His eyes turned frighteningly cold.
"And if you make even one mistake…"
"Place your resignation letter on my desk yourself."
Ronit immediately trembled.
"N-No, Sir!"
"It won't happen again!"
"Please forgive me."
"I'll prepare everything right away."
Without waiting another second, he fled the office.
As he left, he thought miserably,
I should stay away from this devil today.
If I stay here any longer, he might just erase me from this world.
---
Inside the office, Kabir loosened his tie and muttered darkly,
"You shouldn't have done this, Chahat."
"I told you never to even think about betraying me."
"But it seems you didn't understand."
His eyes darkened.
"That's alright."
"After what I'm about to do…"
"You'll understand me perfectly."
With that, he dialed a number.
The call connected almost instantly.
In a cold voice, Kabir ordered,
"Bring him in."
"And treat him well."
"But remember one thing…"
A sinister smile appeared on his lips.
"He must stay alive."
Without waiting for a reply, he ended the call.
And a devilish smile slowly spread across his handsome face.
What did Chahat do that made Kabir so furious?
Has another misunderstanding begun to form between them?
And who was the unfortunate person Kabir just ordered his men to bring?
