Chahat and Kabir were still lost in the warmth of the moment when Kabir suddenly came back to his senses and gently pushed her away.
Chahat didn't like that at all.
Thinking he was still upset, she tried to close the distance between them again, but this time Kabir stopped her.
Without saying a word, he turned around and headed toward the walk-in closet.
Before he could enter, however, Chahat stopped him.
Standing in front of him, she asked softly,
"Hubby, what's wrong? Are you angry with me?"
"If you are, then please tell me what I did. I can't bear your coldness."
The moment those words left her mouth, the anger Kabir had been suppressing finally erupted.
He turned around sharply, startling her.
His voice was filled with pain and frustration.
"So this morning… was that all an act?"
"Were you getting close to me just so you could destroy me?"
"Do you want revenge on me?"
"But remember one thing, Chahat."
"No one can destroy Kabir Rathore so easily."
"And as for your so-called boyfriend, Rohan… I'll make sure he regrets crossing me for the rest of his life."
His eyes darkened.
"But the biggest mistake was yours."
"I told you before—do whatever you want."
"But never betray me."
"Perhaps you still haven't understood my words."
Chahat stood there completely shocked.
Betray him?
She had never even imagined doing something like that.
Trying to calm him down, she said,
"Hubby, I think you've misunderstood something."
"I would never betray you."
"I've accepted you with all my heart."
"And as for ruining you… I can't even imagine such a thing."
Kabir laughed bitterly.
"A misunderstanding?"
"Of course."
"It's always me who misunderstands, right?"
"You always know everything."
Chahat understood immediately.
He was referring to the countless times she had doubted him in the past.
Ignoring the pain in her heart, she stepped closer and placed her hand over his chest.
"If I've hurt you somehow, please tell me."
"I really don't understand."
Kabir stared at her for a few moments before picking up his laptop.
"You want to know?"
"Then see it for yourself."
He played a video.
As soon as Chahat saw it, her eyes widened in shock.
The recording showed her conversation with Riya earlier that day.
The part where she had said she loved Rohan.
The part where she had talked about ruining Kabir.
Everything.
Seeing her expression, a painful smile appeared on Kabir's face.
"So?"
"Do you still want to tell me it's a misunderstanding?"
Finally understanding what had happened, Chahat quickly shook her head.
"No!"
"Hubby, those words weren't meant for you."
"I said all that because I didn't want Riya to suspect that I know the truth."
"I don't care about Rohan anymore."
"The only people I want to destroy are Riya and him."
"That's why I said those things."
But Kabir's expression didn't change.
His cold eyes remained the same.
Realizing that he still didn't believe her, Chahat gently put the laptop aside.
Then she led him to the bed and sat beside him.
Taking a deep breath, she held his face in her hands.
"Hubby…"
"I know I've made countless mistakes."
"I know it's difficult for you to trust me after everything I've done."
"But I swear… no one matters to me anymore except you."
"If you can't trust me right now, I understand."
"I deserve that."
"But I won't give up."
"I'll earn your trust."
"No matter how long it takes."
"Because I know I don't deserve your faith right now."
"But I promise I'll prove myself."
After saying everything in her heart, she looked at him once again.
Yet Kabir's expression remained unreadable.
A trace of sadness appeared in her eyes.
Still, she forced herself to smile.
She had hurt him too much.
She couldn't expect him to trust her so easily.
As she was about to get up, strong arms suddenly wrapped around her waist.
Before she could react, Kabir pulled her back into his embrace.
His forehead rested against hers.
And for the first time that evening, the storm in his eyes had disappeared.
Replacing it…
Was something Chahat knew very well.
Love.
Endless love.
